Ulutepe is a underpopulated Alevi village in the north of Turkey in Tokat city. The name of the village is Gelit in the records of 1928. The village, which became a town by obtaining municipality status on December 30, 1998, ended its municipality status in 2013 when its population fell below 2000 people. Now, the population of this village is under 500. The people living in the village generally have Alevi beliefs and perform Alevi rituals regularly. They perform their daily and weekly prayers collectively in the cemevi in the village.
